Melanie Klein, MA is a successful speaker and professor of sociology and women’s studies at California State University, Northridge, as well as an internationally recognized and sought-after empowerment coach, thought leader, and influencer in authentic empowerment, super charged confidence, and visibility. Her expertise has enabled her to write, edit, or contribute to nine books on these topics, including the groundbreaking and award-winning anthology, Yoga & Body Image. The latest in her body of work, Embodied Resilience through Yoga, was published September 2020. Melanie ran the LA chapter of Women, Action and the Media for nearly a decade and volunteers her time for Global Girl Media training underserved girls to become citizen journalists to tell their stories and the stories of their communities. Melanie Klein received the Global Citizenship grant 4 years in a row allowing her to offer programing, events and conferences with a focus on women's education, rights and opportunities with an intersection on ecology and sustainability globally. Melanie Klein co-founded the Yoga and Body Image Coalition in 2014, challenging the yoga industry to expand representation of the practice and its people with #whatayogilookslike.
